Scaffolding course over 9 meters 

In Norway, personnel who work with scaffolding over 9 metres must meet strict training requirements. These requirements are set by the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority and are laid down in the Regulations concerning the Performance of Work, Section 17-4.

Anyone who assembles, dismantles, alters or inspects scaffolding exceeding 9 metres in height must have documented and adequate training before carrying out this work.

This course is delivered in accordance with current regulations and NS 9700-1 – Requirements for Training, Practical Experience and Documentation for Scaffolding Over 9 Metres. The practical training is carried out under the supervision of a qualified person and is documented in accordance with the requirements of the standard.

Upon successful completion of both the theoretical and practical training, participants will have the necessary foundation to work with scaffolding over 9 metres in accordance with current requirements for safety, quality and documentation.

After completing theory and practice, the participant has the necessary foundation to work with scaffolding over 9 meters, in line with current requirements for safety, quality and documentation.

Requirements for practice

To obtain a scaffolding certificate that satisfies the regulations’ training requirements for those who build scaffolds over 9 meters, in addition to the scaffolding theory course, you must document:

• At least 6 months of experience in a company that uses scaffolding in its work 
• At least 72 hours of practical training in scaffolding construction, divided into at least 3 scaffolding types after completing the theory course.

📝 Knowledge tests and practice

• The course includes tests throughout the course. You must get  at least 80% correct answers  to pass.

• Any practice documents must be sent to  administrasjon@kursconsult.no  or uploaded as PDF in the course portal. They are assessed as  «approved» or «not approved» .

📄 Course certificate

• When the theory part and the practical part (if applicable) are completed, you will receive a course certificate by email.
